This past August Sacramento County Animal Control received a
call about a young horse found abandoned. The little horse turned out to be a 3 year old miniature horse with a severe
back injury which had left him disfigured. Sacramento County felt humane euthanasia was the only option, but decided
to first call The Grace Foundation to see if there was anything which they could do.
After a full examination and x-rays it was determined that although he was forever disabled, he was not in any pain,
and deserved a chance at a wonderful life, and what a life it will be. He will become one of Grace's equine educators
and will help children with disabilities overcome their own challenges.
Before he does this, the little guy will need surgery. He is a cryptorchid (a testicle which has failed to descend
into the scrotum), and he will need to go through more extensive x-rays to see if there is anything which can be done at his
age so that he will not develop arthritis as he gets older. The Grace Foundation needs the community's support to make
this possible.
Great things do in fact come in small packages,
and this little guy is truly destined for greatness. Please help us tell the community about his amazing story!
